Only when it affects privacy of the victim or child.

That's one aspect but hardly the only reason.

Gomery Inquiry banned publication of 3 witness's testimony which has nothing to do with children or the victim.

We were speaking of a video recording........try to keep up.

Don't trip backing up.

You posted this article. You support this point of view. You've made that clear over and over again.

Keep posting your sensational, anti-cop bullshit....because that's all it is.

Oh, I do support the point of view. But it was fun drawing you out to tacitly admit that you want these stories suppressed.

And since you think that cops who murder people under color of authority is something that should be kept sekret I know an agency where your ideas would fit in just fine.

I've never said I want the stories suppressed. Not once.

I'll break it down for you because you're having a hard time.

You post these articles all the time because you're very anti-cop and you'd love us to believe that these stories are common when in fact, that's not true at all.

Police misconduct deserves to be published but don't try to sell us on your anti-cop agenda...making it out like there's an "epidemic". Some of us are smart enough to see through your bullshit and know cops do a lot more good than they do bad.

What does that have to do with anything? If the judge says publication ban then that's it until and unless another judge says no that's wrong.

And publication bans are not only for children and to protect victims. Like you incorrectly stated.

Hidden justice is not justice.

No.....the example you presented was witnesses and not evidence. You understand the difference don't you??

How's the goal post moving business?

You made a stupid statement and were called out on it, why can't you admit you were wrong?

Has become; 'What a witness says can be subject to a media publication ban without being required to be due to the protections offered to a minor or victim.

And this fact disproves your early statement that courts can enact publication bans at the whim of the judge. Because... reasons.'

Some crackhead shot a soldier in Ottawa last week. Everybody lost their minds. If that's a big deal, why wouldn't several hundred murders a year be?

Very Stalinist I must say, reducing people to statistics.

That's because it wasn't just a murder, it was a terrorist attack.

Zehaf-Bibeau referenced Canada’s foreign policy, as well as his Muslim faith, in the video – including a remark about Allah.

Why you and others deny the truth is beyond me. The guy is was terrorist that happened to have a drug problem.

Jabberwalker @ Sat Nov 01, 2014 6:08 am

The obvious answer it that you have to be a sick bastard to become a terrorist in the first place. That seems to be pretty straight forward.

The evidence seems to say the opposite. He had a drug problem long before he converted to Islam. Then it took him a while to become radicalized while hoping Islam would help him with the drug problem, only to find it didn't, pleading with judges to lock him up, hoping he would get help. This guy is an example of the failure of the health system to adequately treat drug addiction. When a guy asks to be locked up because of a drug problem, he should immediately be offered long term rehab if they're not going to lock him up.

I must agree with the rest of the members. You're too stupid to argue with.

This is what I enjoy about this forum, the quality of the debate is so low that it's liking paying on easy mode with cheats on.

Terrorist schmerrorist, if one death at the hands of another man warrants national outcry, why not hundreds? Reasons and intentions don't make a person any less dead, and it doesn't make a family any less devestated.

Did the other few hundred kill random military personnel for religious and radical reasons? If not, try to compare apples to apples if you want a fair comparison.
