I think their people would be more happy under US rule.

What do you base this on?

The fact that the US are already pretty much Canada's baby-sitters.

Now, I asked a serious question and expected at least an intelligent reply. No need to insult because you don't like my question. Grow up.

How can this even be considered a serious question, especially on a Canadian site? Maybe on a "We're better than you" site.

This is not a canadian website. The TLD of this website is .net and not .ca

THANK YOU!!! For some reason these Canadians think this is a Canadian site. They don't understand they need America for everything.

That is the dumbest thing ive heard all day.

that is funny.

.com doesn't mean .USA and .net or .org doesn't mean .USA

I don't think it's that you don't believe what the cia says because of their history, you just don't believe it probably because it's American and any American shouldn't be trusted. I find the cia factbook to look pretty correct, I mean it doesn't talk about the US as being a country without problems and doesn't come off as propaganda to me. You can take it with a grain of salt, but I don't see what's so unbelievable about it. You take the population number with a grain of salt? The military numbers with a grain of salt? It all seems like reasonable numbers to me. Once Canada's population get's higher, and if it ever reaches the US's population, just wait and see how great Canada will be then.

That is insulting. Some of my dearest freinds in the world are American. Its the american government and its arrogance that I don't like. I never said anything was wrong with the fact book either. I said I don't trust the CIA because they do have a history of collosal screw ups and fabricating "evidence/proof" to support their goals or the goals of the whitehouse. The fact book is just a collection of census and economic profile information that the cia uses to assess the countries of the world. Most governments have one, the cia one is just the easiest to access online.

American public opinion is backwards and old fashion compared to the rest of the world. google it you can find oodles of polls.

Exactly, so I don't see what the whole "i wouldn't trust the cia..." thing was, cause all I was talking about was just a factbook and nothing about how everyone should trust the cia.

The American public opinion is usually pretty split, it's the government who usually has a different opinion about everything else. I myself am American living in Canada for a little while, and I'll tell you that Americans such as myself have tons of different opinions. Dont believe polls, they lie.

Im not a Christian, and I don't care if some person who kills people is killed, cause it saves money in the long run because people in the US have to pay for people to stay in prison. I don't get why someone who is not a christian should believe that someone like the Oklahoma City bomber or a Serial killer deserves life. Let em die and save us money because they will never be corrected in prison considering they would get a life sentence, so what's the point of paying for someone to be in prison their whole life when you can just kill them and never have to worry about them again, and put people in prison for shorter sentences who can possibly be rehabilitated.

AdamNF @ Mon Mar 29, 2004 2:57 pm

Think about this. Someone who kills in the heat of passion or in a sudden bolt of anger can get the death penalty. But the ones who sit down, discuss, think about and plan a way to kill/execute someone are the law and for some reason that processes is thought to be ok. Seems like of sick to me.

At least seven innocent people have been put to death in the last ten years by the United States of America. You, Johnny, never cease to amaze me. Why don't you go find an American site??? We don't have the death penalty in Canada, we won't realease a prisoner to a country where he could face the death sentance.

I never said that was right, I was saying that I think the death penalty is right for people that there is no way to rehabilitate, such as people who plot to kill people and enjoy killing people, such as ted bundy. You people really don't listen to me. Where did I say anything about the death penalty for people who kill out of passion or what not. I never said it is right for innocent people to be killed or anything, just that my view on the death penalty is it's good for getting rid of people who can't be rehabilitated or people who commit terrible crimes such as serial killers, and that it's better to kill those people than pay for them to be in prison their whole life. Go ahead and speak your hippy, killing people is wrong talk, but im not a christian, and I think people who kill mass numbers of people and would just get life in prison should be killed.

Umm, you can shut up now. I was talking about serious murderers who kill people or commit terrorist acts. Under your ideology, we should keep all those nice terrorist like osama alive, right? I never said it was right to put innocent people to death, just that I think we should have the death penalty to save money that would otherwise be spent on people who spend lifetimes in jail. You don't have the death penalty in Canada because you don't have as much crime as the US, and your prisons aren't becoming full and a burden on tax payers. You need to respect other countries laws and judgements about what is a crime, and not value your opinion over those countries laws as though they are wrong. I personally think it's alright to kill someone who's goal in life is to kill other people, instead of letting them live a life in prison on the money of taxpayers that they would kill if they were out. Guess it's just a different mindset of Canadians and Americans because Canadians don't experience as much gruesome crime and serial killers as the US, or as many terrorist acts. I respect Canada for paying for their killers and such to live in prison nicely, but some people just can't be rehabilitated, so why not kill them I figure, because they would kill you if they could(this only counts for some people, not those innocent people who had the misfortune to get the death penalty).

....Oh the innocent people, what about the innocent people....What about the innocent people that died on sept. 11th, would you rather have a terrorist spend life in prison at those innocent peoples cost, or go ahead and kill them and rid the world of them?
