Why does Canada sponser al Qaeda in the first place? Maybe a safe refuge is best not disturbed or dont shit in your own nest.
This is off my memory but I remember someone posting links to Al Qaeda and the Canadian government.
I could dig up some links but I thought it was well known that we have terrorist cells in Canada.I also thought Al Qaeda had some government funding at one time.

What a load. Sponsor? Deliberatly? I don't think so! Do you mean how the US sponsored Osama in afganistan. Do you mean how the US sponsored Saddam during the iraq-iran war. Do you mean how Sadamm was a paid CIA agent in egypt?

Impying that our Gov't purposely & willfully aided Al-Quada is nothing short of outright lies. What would we have to gain. For that matter how much would we lose (everything). You may not like the Liberals but posting bullshit like this serves only to undermine your words.

Not to crash the bus or anything but here is a little factomundo: Jean Chretien actually appealed to the Pakistani Government on behalf of Ahmed Said Khadr, a close confidant of Osama Bin Laden. He was imprisoned for terrorist activities and later killed along with one of his sons in a 12 hour firefight with Pakistani authorities. Jean Chretien helped get him out of jail.read down to the 1995 paragraph...
He was and his family are all AlQaeda kooks. And Canadian citizens.

In the early 1990s, Revenue Canada (as it was then called) granted charitable status to an organization calling itself the Babbar Khalsa Society, located in Kamloops B.C. This was less than two years after Inderjit Singh Reyat was convicted of manslaughter in the Narita Airport explosion, the result of one of two bombs placed on Air India flights in 1985, the other killed 329 passengers, almost half of them Canadians, on flight 182.

Repeated inquiries regarding the Babbar Khalsa Society were made during Question Period in the House of Commons by the Official Opposition, and were often treated with contempt by the Liberal Party of Canada and its leading cabinet ministers. On May 4, 1995, Val Merideth (Reform Party MP for Surrey White Rock) was told by David Anderson, then Minister of Revenue, in response to her inquiries regarding this one specific questionable organization that "The member is wrong to single out a particular organization of which there may be one or two individual members about whom I know nothing and attempt to blacken the entire status of all organizations dealing with immigrants." Essentially, he tried to portray her as a racist.

On June 5, 1995, Ms. Merideth again confronted the Liberal government with photos of Talwinder Singh Parmar (the lead suspect in the Air India bombing) surrounded by automatic rifles and RPG-7 anti-tank rockets and a quote in a Punjabi newspaper where he said that if anyone wants to commit suicide, they should board an Air India flight. Mr. Anderson’s response was again offensive and inadequate: "We are quite willing to accept the views of the hon. member that a picture of a member with guns surrounding him is evidence, but I suggest it is totally contradictory to the Reform Party’s gun policy that the mere presence of a photograph with weapons causes one to be investigated and causes one to lose charitable status."

Canada has given the benefit of the doubt to a number of organizations that have since been proven to be violent groups. you make it sound as though Canada supports all current Al-Qaeda operations and are actively helping them commit terrorist activities. I notice you didn't comment on the US support of Al-Qaeda when it suited them. You labelled me as "anti-american" by pointing out the fact that the US did indeed help violent groups that they are now fighting. By your own logic you are "anti-Canadian" for pointing that out about us. Who's the fool now eh? :roll:
