I don't think they would waste people and resources by launching an attack in Canada.

If they had money and people to spare they would be attacking more frequently. The US homeland hasn't been attacked since 9/11 and Americans are the #1 target for Al Queda.

Interesting (scary) fact. Of the 6 nations on Bin Ladens list we are the only one's that haven't been hit yet.

The reason that Bin Laden hasen't hit us yet is because him and all of little Al Queda buddies are here in Canada driving taxis.

ShepherdsDog @ Fri Jul 08, 2005 6:07 am

Or possibly working as engineers?????

I thought Italy was on that “list” too? Have they been the victims of confirmed Al-Qaeda attacks?

Na we got enough home grown engineers, all his buddies are driving cabs.

The probably are working in some sort of manufacturing plant somewhere building God knows what for God knows who. And then when it comes time for a vacation or something they go back to Iraq, or Afaganistan or wherever they originated from, and they tell all their new found information, and show off their skills and what do we have then? A well informed, well taught "group" of terrorists.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
These terrorists are like the mythical hydra. For everyone you put down another ten pop up.

I find them more like a bacillus - unless you kill them all they come back even stronger than before.

Not yet.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
The idea that Moslem terrorists would differentiate between Australians, Britons, Americans and Canadians is ludicrous. They lump us all together as Western Infidels and the fact that we all speak English targets us even more so. Abdul isn't going to stop and think, 'hmmmm what kind of accent is that, I wouldn't want to kill a Canadian', it's going to be 'Praise be to Allah, I have an infidel in my sights.' BLAM, BANG, KABOOM etc.

Sappers returning from 'stan have repeatedly said this as well, so I can't imagine the Al-Qaeda/Taliban having an outlook much different than that.

Mustang1 Mustang1:
...the point is that no one actually does until, unfortunately, after the first strike. It’s all speculation until it actually happens and if recent events are any indicator, prevention is difficult and avoidance is impossible.

Exactamundo [I'll apologize for the cheesy Fonzie remark, lol]. It is all speculation. We are on the list. We know this. It'll come. So what are we going to do about it is what I'm wondering about.

Osama bin Laden has specifically said he will atatck Canada. He has demonstrated that his threats are not idle. It is not "if" Canada will be attacked but "when." The sooner we can accept this, the sooner we move on to more productive areas of enquiry, like, what will we do when we are attacked adn how do we minimzie the imapct of the attack.

I might add that if Al Qeada attacks the US through Canada, that will be just as bad for Canada. The border will shut down, and our economy will tailspin.

Well I'd expect them to come through here next time, I mean the CIA has been operating in Canada for years. Seems only natural for the next 'big' thing to be launched from here. And it will tie in nicely with the water problems down the road for the US. PDT_Armataz_01_06

Sure he did, however people are prone to change their minds. If your so sure that Canada will be attacked, demonstrate how attacking Canada would benefit Al Queda.

Propaganda. Image. If al-Qaeda finds that America/Britain/Whereever is to vigalant at the moment, or security to high attacking Canada may seem like a good idea. It would show there supporters and sympathizers that they are still kicking and still capable of taking the fight "into the heart of infidel lands" as they'd say. Also if they feel Canadian troops where too effecient in Afghanistan, hitting Toronto/Montreal/Vancouver might be seen as a way for some payback, and hopefully a repeat of Spain's retreat from Iraq.

Why does Canada sponser al Qaeda in the first place? Maybe a safe refuge is best not disturbed or dont shit in your own nest.
This is off my memory but I remember someone posting links to Al Qaeda and the Canadian government.
I could dig up some links but I thought it was well known that we have terrorist cells in Canada.I also thought Al Qaeda had some government funding at one time.

And I hate to take someone to task for their spelling because mines atrociuos but you could learn how to spell Al Qaeda at least.

I'm afraid I don't quite follow your post in conjunction with my response could you elaborate a little more?
